The Story Behind LSHomes LLC
"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."
In 1998, my mother was diagnosed with stomach cancer. When I returned home from college eager to share my overseas experiences, I was faced with the most harrowing news about my mother's terminal illness. My mother, the healthy lady I left at home, had lost weight and was pale and frail; I could hardly recognize her. My mind raced, thinking about how to help her win this battle that had left her with no strength to fight back. In the passing weeks, we supported my mother the best way we could until she passed away a few months later. My mother's illness and death led me to study clinical Medicine and later specialize in cancer research. After five years in cancer research with Uganda-Case Western Reserve University at Mulago Hospital, I moved to the United States, where I pursued my master's degree in public health at the University of Minnesota to give me a balance between clinical and preventive Medicine.
In May 2020, I received devastating news about my dad's passing. At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill and traveling was restricted, it was painful not being able to travel to bury and mourn the loss of my dad with the rest of my family. My dad lived a long life, and not being there for him in his final years is a pain that I will always carry with me. In 2021, I opened an adult family home – LShomes – to honor my parents. The experience of losing both my parents motivated me to make a difference in the lives of our Senior community and fueled my desire to ensure that our silent generation and baby boomers receive quality and compassionate care.
At LShomes in Auburn, WA, I have found my passion in the elderly care space and through services provided to our residents and their families. I am grateful that every day I wake up, I work with a professional team of nursing assistants, and together, we make a difference in the lives of others. At LShomes, family comes first, and we raise the bar for assisted living by providing our residents with an authentic 'home feel.' Our high staff-to-resident ratio creates peace of mind and trust, knowing loved ones are always cared for. I welcome you to visit our residential facilities in Auburn WA.
